Meet Melody, the heart and soul behind Y Llofft. Known to many by her stage name, Melody Shads, she has been a fixture of the UK music scene for over 12 years. Whether she’s performing at a crowded venue or recording her latest tracks—following her successful 2023 debut—Melody lives and breathes music.
With six years of teaching experience in diverse environments including SEN and mainstream schools, Melody believes that music should be accessible to everyone. She is a true multi-instrumentalist, teaching everything from piano and voice and saxophone, to music theory and production . When she isn't at the front of our singing classes, she’s busy preparing for her upcoming music release. Melody is passionate about helping every student find their unique voice.

Introducing Sam, quite possibly the busiest musician in Wales! With more than 10 years of industry experience under his belt, Sam is a master of his craft who brings incredible energy to every lesson.

Mike | Guitar & Songwriting
Mike’s musical journey began at age ten, fueled by a DIY spirit and a passion for live performance. After cutting his teeth on the Swansea open mic circuit, he transitioned into the world of original music, gaining extensive experience as a frontman, lead vocalist, and rhythm guitarist.

Mike’s background is impressively diverse; he has navigated everything from acoustic cover sets to high-energy pop-punk and technical "Midwest Emo." His expertise in open tunings, dual vocal arrangements, and extreme dynamics allows him to teach a wide variety of styles. Whether you are looking to master the acoustic guitar or dive into the technicalities of heavy alternative music, Mike’s decade-plus of band experience and songwriting knowledge provides students with a unique, real-world perspective on making music.
